©2020 Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office.Dissolved inorganic nutrient concentrations were measured in seawater samples collected from nutrient amendment experiments conducted on surface water collected at the Long-Term Ecological Monitoring Station, MareChiara, in the Gulf of Naples, Italy, between April 20 and May 19, 2022. These incubations were part of a field study on "Diatom Virus Infection of Natural Communities" (DaVINCi) and were aimed at understanding the role of silicon limitation in driving diatom viral infection.

Seawater from incubation bags were siphoned into bottles using acid-washed tubing. Samples for nutrient analysis were filtered through a 0.22-micrometer (um) syringe filter into high-density polypropylene vials and frozen at -20 degrees Celsius (°C). Analyses are performed using a Flow-Sys III Systea auto-analyzer as in Grasshoff et al., 1983
