Access & Reuse

The BCO-DMO database (www.bco-dmo.org) consists of research-ready data that spans the full range of marine ecosystem-related measurements including in-situ and remotely sensed observations, experimental results, models output, and synthesis products.

BCO-DMO develops and adopts software, APIs, ontologies, and other services to enhance data access, discovery, and interoperability.

Data Access

Our database explorer can be used to find data and metadata records across our whole system. It is designed to explore data from across scientific disciplines, formats, standard vocabularies, time periods, and locations.

ERDDAP

The BCO-DMO ERDDAP server provides access to downloadable subsets of our datasets in common file formats such as Python, R, Javascript, and MATLAB, with the capability of creating graphs and maps.

Data Usage & Citation

All BCO-DMO datasets are freely available and may be used in proposals, other scientific analyses, and projects. The requirements are giving appropriate credit, providing a link to the license, and indicating if changes were made. You can't apply measures that restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

Guidelines for how to use and cite BCO-DMO data can be found on the "Attribution" page.
